Just moved to the area for work with the Army, and Moon Rise Cafe was the first place we hit up for breakfast. It's in a shopping center in Lakewood, so parking is shared. We got lucky and parked right in front. The staff greeted us warmly and merged tables to fit our group of six. We waited about 5-10 minutes--not a big deal. I ordered the Monte Cristo with house fries, and it was delicious! The portions were huge. Their biscuit with gravy was decent too. One area for improvement would be for the staff to be more courteous, hospitable, and friendly, especially when serving customers. Overall, I'd recommend this place and I'll definitely be back.

Quaint little cafe- food was delicious and service was friendly. Not a large restaurant, so get there early or be prepared to wait!

I love coming here, their hash browns are the best EVER. Servers are so sweet and the food is always good. It's a small place which makes it tricky with a toddler but the small space doesn't take away from how the experience. Their biscuits are huge and fluffy, lattes are always delish and portions fill you up.

This is a little gem tucked inside a strip mall building. You can tell that many people eating there are regulars and rightly so. If I had the time I would be here way more often! Food was all phenomenal. I was having a pregnancy breakfast craving kind of day and Moon Rise delivered. The hash browns are very unique and they actually cooked them veryyyy crispy, as requested. Sausage patty is the yummiest and biggest I've ever seen in a restaurant. We will be back, Moon Rise!

Moonrise is a consistent favorite for our family, though since shrinking to their smaller size it's tougher to bring all the kids. It's usually our spot for bringing a friend or a quick date-morning breakfast or brunch. We especially love knowing we are supporting a truly local family business. Their food and coffee are consistently tasty. My favorite or order is biscuits and gravy with a fried egg on top. Always very yummy, hot, and comforting!! I especially enjoy it while sitting at the counter reading a book or catching up on my messages from friends or family. Not to be forgotten is their great service - they're always kind and quick, aware that you don't want to be pushed out but efficient enough to keep the tables turning when they have a waitlist! It takes talent to balance these, for sure. We'll continue to return to Moonrise with friends and family!

Another amazing breakfast at Moon Rise! Kate D. was again her amazing self. She genuinely works to make your experience great every time you come in. The Cheesecake Biscuits (I was skeptical) are very good, we got the fudge one and it was delicious. The Moon Rise breakfast sandwich with their amazing sausage patty would make McD so jealous. If it has not been on your Yelp list to try, shame on you as this place is awesome in every way.

"They definitely know what they're doing" - Husband This place has been in my Bookmarks forever, from when I lived in Federal Way. I'm so happy that I'm about 12 minutes away from them now. First, my Eggs Benedict with the Honey Ham was delicious. I do wish the ham was the thick--cut type, but this weeks. My eggs were perfectly poached. Watching Gordan Ramsay shows has made me a bit of a snob when it comes to Eggs Benedicts hahah. The main star here, is the Pancakes. We got it with blueberries. The photo may be a bit deceiving, it doesn't show that the bottom of the bottom of the pancake has a nice crispiness to it. Love that they put the butter on the side for me too. This is definitely our new Go-To place for breakfast when we have the same mornings off of work.

Absolutely amazing food and service! If we lived closer this would be our 1 meal a day stop, as the serving was large enough to cover late breakfast and small dinner. Hostess was awesome, saying "perfect timing " as we were the last to be seated and served before closing. Casey was great! And I had a fun chat with another friendly employee about making pie crusts. Veggie eggs Benedict had healthy servings of avocado, spinach and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin with poached egg. Hash browns might be the best I've had. Very thinly grated potatoes cooked to the perfect crispiness! Run, don't walk, for your next meal!!! Check their hours as they are limited. So nice to have a great meal to look forward too. I need to try a lunch, but can't wait that long....

We came here because the reviews here were glowing and we had to try it out. The first time we tried to stop by, it was super packed and they had an hour long wait list. We decided to come back a different day. Luckily, there was a day where we had to be up super early and came in pretty much a little after they just opened. We were greeted warmly by a hostess and then shown to our table with menus. Our waitress was very friendly and polite as she answered all questions that we had and gave us ample time to look on the menu before taking our order. We ordered an oatmeal cookie latte, blackberry lemonade, homemade Belgian waffle combo, gravy over biscuits and the Monte Cristo. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I was over the moon with the jam that came with the Monte Cristo. The interior is very cozy with the atmosphere of being inside a sweet mother's home. There are plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate as many parties as possible but they are a small restaurant that gets filled up quickly. Definitely will be returning to try out other delicious items on their menu!

The servers are very friendly, I was greeted with a smile which was very pleasant. The place itself wasn't super busy, I was able to get a seat very quickly. There are definitely some regulars that seem to love this spot and I can see why. It's a quiet, small yet welcoming place. I picked this spot based on its good reviews. I was able to order my coffee and meal quickly. The coffee was perfect. It was absolutely delicious. I did wait quite a while for my food to come out (as did the other patrons) but the food was delicious. I decided to try the sandwich because it sounded good and refreshing with the tomato and avocado. I also got a side of hash browns... more like a MOUND of hashbrowns which I could not finish but I saved them for tomorrow's breakfast. I loved the sandwich and the hashbrowns I could definitely see myself ordering this again. I will be back to try more items on the menu.
